Benefits of Composite Step Edging:

  1. Durable & Low Maintenance: Unlike traditional timber, our composite step edges don’t require regular painting or treating. The materials used in the production of this step edge make it incredibly long-lasting and virtually maintenance-free. Say goodbye to costly upkeep and enjoy your decking for years without the hassle.

  2. Slip-Resistant: Composite decking absorbs significantly less water than timber, and limits the growth of fungi and mould. This makes it much safer when wet, ensuring a secure platform for all, including children and the elderly.

  3. Environmentally Friendly: Our composite step edges are made from recycled materials, so you can enhance your outdoor space while being kind to the planet. With its sustainable design, this product offers all the benefits of wood without the environmental impact.

  4. Easy Installation: This composite step edge is designed for straightforward installation. It can be fitted easily by any competent DIY enthusiast using standard tools. Simply cut the composite boards like traditional timber, and assemble them using our composite decking clips. The material won’t splinter or crack, making it easier and safer to work with.

What is Composite Decking Made From? Our composite decking is created by blending plastic resin with real wood fibres, resulting in a product that not only looks great but also outperforms traditional timber decking. The combination of these materials provides a strong, durable, and weather-resistant solution for your outdoor spaces.

Decking fixings - choose your clips and screws

Plan fixings for the complete deck as well as this finishing board. Centre clips can secure a compatible grooved inner edge; square edges and exposed final edges need suitable colour-matched composite decking face screws into the supporting frame. Check the actual profile before choosing fixings.

Fit a centre fixing clip at every joist along each compatible board groove. At board-end joins, provide double joists with a separate support and fixing for each end. Side gaps created by clips do not replace the expansion gaps required at board ends, walls and other fixed objects.

Movement-control option: the Uni-Move locking clip - 7mm, pack of 50 is a separate fixing system. Ask us to confirm compatibility with your board and chosen centre clips before combining it with a 2-3mm or 3-4mm clip layout.

Check screw suitability for your subframe and follow the applicable decking installation guide. Browse all composite decking fixings.
